Student Loan with a private lending institution.

I was recently discharged from bankruptcy in Alberta. Part of my accumulated debt were three student loans - 1 national, 1 provincial, and 1 (from 1999) with a private lending institution. On my discharge document the private loan looks as though it was disolved, such as a credit card debt, is this the case or do I still owe the bank the full amount?

lost wages

I have been told that if I file for bankruptcy and later recieve back pay from workmans compensation for pain and suffering that the trustee has no right to these monies. My question is about loss of wages, if I recieve for lost wages do I get to keep these as well?

You can only afford to pay off interest on your student loan.

Does this sound like you?
You managed to develop a substantial amount of student loan debt while completing post secondary education. Since graduating, you have only managed to pay off the interest and you don't know what to do.

What can you do?
With the rapidly increasing costs of post secondary education, many Canadians will graduate from College or University with a great deal of student loan debt. If possible, try cutting back on monthly expense to free up some extra cash. You could also consider a consumer proposal or bankruptcy. Both options will give you a financial fresh start.
