RRSP’s and bankruptcy

If I file for bankruptcy what happens to RRSP’s? Will they be seized?

Do you contact my employer?

I was looking at an application form I received from a trustee and noticed it requests the name and address of my current employer. Will they be contacted if I file for bankruptcy?

re-establishing credit

About how long does it normally take to re-establish credit after a bankruptcy. Does a secured credit card really help your credit score or it this just wrong info? I figured it wouldn’t have a huge impact, is this true? Any suggestions on how to re-establish without paying ridiculous interst rates, signing away my first born, promising a limb…?

Cash on hand

I have looked over the assets that I am allowed to keep in a bankruptcy and I don’t see any section for cash. Can I keep any cash at all or at the time I file for bankruptcy do I have to give all my cash to the trustee? If I am left with no cash at all I may not be able to pay the next month’s rent! If I am allowed to keep any cash, what is the limit?

CTB and bankruptcy

Does declaring bankrupcy have any impact on my receiving the child tax credit from the Federal Government?

duties and discharge from bankruptcy

I filed for bankruptcy in 2003 and have only completed half of my duties. I still owe my fees and have one counselling session left to full fill my duties. I have only received one letter from my trustee reminding me that i must complete my duties before i am discharged. how can i finish this bankruptcy and will there be a penalty charged? can i still finish that bankruptcy? I filed when I was single before I met my current husband this shouldnt affect him as we didnt know one another at that time.
I have had a rough time trying to live in Alberta and I am playing catch up.. is it too late for me? I am scared because I am so far behind. please tell me how to rectify this.
thanks
