wondering about working during bankruptcy

I\’m wondering about working during bankruptcy…I currently work 20 hours a week, and make around 2400 a month doing this. Would I be able to file for bankruptcy just working half time? And would they take my wage into consideration? I make a lot, but can only get so many hours at my work….

  1. Barton Goth, CIRP, Trustee in Bankruptcy says:

There is nothing about your wages that would prevent you from filing for bankruptcy.

The cost of bankruptcy is directly tied to your income, so as your income changes, so can the cost of the bankruptcy. This is all based on the Superintendent Surplus Income Guideline that every trustee in Canada must follow.
