information on website

I am wondering if the information on the \”Bankruptcy in Alberta\” website is up-to-date – particulary in the section called \”Frequently Asked Questions\”. I am asking, because I noticed references made to Bill C-55, but that seems to have been replaced by Bill C-12, and the answers to the FAQs do not seem to be consistent with Bill C-12 which was passed in December of 2007.

  1. Barton Goth, CIRP, Trustee in Bankruptcy says:

The difficulty we have is that when you are reviewing old posts they are based on old information and if there is a change that has taken place after that time it would not be reflected in those older entries.

However, you are correct that Bill C-55 was replaced by Bill C-12 and passed in December 2007, but the problem is that it has not been proclaimed into active law. So as it sits Bill C-12 is sitting there waiting for the government to implement it.
