According to statistics released by the Office
of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy, the personal bankruptcy
rate in Alberta fell in 2005, as noted in the chart below.
The booming resource sector was largely responsible for
the decrease in personal bankruptcies in Alberta. Alberta
had the largest decrease in the rate of personal bankruptcies
in 2005 of any province in Canada.
